Au Revoir Matt Gooderick ( + new pics )

You may be aware I have the serious hots for BBC News Sports presenter Matt Gooderick, and I've seen that a few others have taken notice and joined the dribbling appreciation.

So I have good news and bad news Matt-watchers - firstly the appearance of these gorgeous new posed shots of Matt. They're actually taken by a (very talented) amateur whose day job is a TV News director at TVC. He mocked one up as a Vanity Fair cover, and I must say Matt and the photo quality are up to the job!

Only found them when Matt himself changed his Twitter avatar (@MattGooders) to the moody head and shoulders shot. I recommend following Matt on Twitter - he's very gay-friendly and followed me back rather than blocked me when I suggested he do one of those stripped-down Attitude Active covers (he was previously a professional footballer) . Even when I sent him this MenAtPlay link he quipped it would liven up Sportsday!

Anyway, in the most recent months Matt has been splitting his time between sports bulletins on BBC World and the BBC News Channel (where I usually see him).

As of this week though Matt is packing a flask and starting permanent night shifts for a new programme, Newsday, simulcast on both channels but between 1 and 7am! OK if you are a night owl. It's such a shame they are hiding away one of their up and coming assets.

However, during our initial Twitter contacts I asked Matt if he was moving up to MediaCity Salford, and he confirmed he was - his wife Shelley is also a BBC employee. Whether this is as part of BBC Sport or BBC Breakfast (I said he should replace Chris Hollings) he didn't say or know, but was by this point suggesting I be his agent! Anyway I hope this means this very off peak slot is not really for good - sorry Matt fans outside the UK.

Minor Matt factoid - he attended the same school as Christopher Isherwood and was there last week to give a careers presentation.

Oh, and to prove I'm not the only Matt fan, here's a YouTube someone other than me made up of him last year (note his previous spikier hairdo). Warning - contains sport.

And remember Matt really does want to get his Attitude Active cover and asked me to campaign for it - I already pleaded with @AttitudeMag (and GT) for this exposure but please tell them if you want it too! ;)

New magazine covers: Attitude & DWM

Managed to get the latest cover shots of two of my fave periodicals today.

First we have the sultry Harry Judd covering "Attitude" and promising more McFly naked shots.

Then, in the first issue of another redesign, we have the first promo shot from the 2011 series on "Doctor Who Magazine"

Attitude also revamped last month, though the most obvious difference in both appears to be the cover font ...

Attitude December 2010 - sex issue

Thanks to the Deep Dish blog for alerting me to this one.

For the new issue of Attitude a gatefold cover features a dozen models from the Randy Blue gay born studio who are modeling Adidas Originals range.

At the same time this odd little video has emerged of them lip-synching to Kylie ... some with more success than others ...

Cricket Totty - James Anderson in Attitude

Sorry, I've been a bit slow to pick up on this - maybe because it was made public on my birthday on Monday which was also a local holiday.

Anyway, England cricketer has become the latest straight celeb to drop 'em for "Attitude" in their October issue. It accompanies a pro-gay interview.

Of course Anderson already has posed naked with colleagues Stuart Broad and Alastair Cook in "Cosmopolitan".

There definitely seems to be a great change in attitude happening within sport as regards this sort of thing. Possibly generational, as the stars have generally been in their 20s, and also to attract a new audience to their respective sports.

Whether we get to the levels seen in Brazil's G magazine (with straight celebs not only showing off full frontal but getting hard and doing cumshots) is another matter, though full frontal is gaining ground via Dieux du Stade's calendar. Yet to see who's exposing themselves in the 2011 edition.

On a related note. it also appears the Edinburgh rugby team are doing another calendar. Let's hope they have learned from their mistakes in the 2010 one - they are putting in some sort of effort already, as three of them bravely faced Festival crowds and paraded in their pants on the Royal Mile last month, which one of them hinted was calendar related.

Village Totty covers Attitude's September issue

The rather sexy straight actor who plays (nearly) the only gay in the village of "Emmerdale" - Danny Miller - is the cover star of the September 2010 which is out today.

While I'm on the subject of young Mr Miller, I also found this little thing for Cosmo:

Attitude Cover, July 2010: Jake Shears

Apologies for my continued absence, which was down to a bout of literal sickness just as I returned from hols in Oban.

To cheer us all up here is Jake Shears of the Scissor Sisters looking ravishing on the newly revealed "Attitude" cover.

EDIT: apparently it's the June issue, not the July issue, as the last issue was dated 'summer 2010'. I don't get that either ...

Those Attitude Covers: June 2010

No idea who that is on the main cover, but the 'Active' cover with the Head Boy Scout, Bear Grylls makes up ;-)

NB - For those unaware I may be a little quiet barring pre-loads, as my MacBook has died again - hopefully only a battery problem.

The Three Attitude Covers (March 2010 issue)

Attitude's covers get more confusing next issue - not only do you get another 'flipped' cover for 'Active' on the back, it seems there's a choice of two main covers. Woe betide the newsagent that only has the David Cameron one in stock!

"Shameless" Totty : Attitude's first cover of 2010

Was a bit distracted by this - the way the cover has been typed up it looks like our dear PM has had one hell of a make-over! In fact it is the (literally?) "Shameless" actor Elliott Tittensor - a bit surprised post-Jedward they didn't go the whole twin totty route, but I guess his brother is damaged goods after being sacked by "Emmerdale".

Attitude Cover Totty - Gethin Jones

"Twas a lovely start to the day when I found this, courtesy of "Hunk du Jour" (see right). The extreme hotness that is Gethin Jones (fresh from the "Strictly Come Dancing" tour) is the topless cover star of the new "Attitude". Now I just need to get my paws on the magazine ...

Attitude, October 2007 issue

Thanks once again to Stuart for scanning duties and tipping me off.

If I'm not mistaken, that's Mitch Hewer (Maxxie in "Skins") decorating a second cover this year.

TV Totty & Hot Cop: Crimewatch's Rav Wilding

Just spotted this guy on last Monday's "Crimewatch UK" where he's currently one of the supporting police officers. He can lay down the law on me anytime.

This is a scan I missed from "Attitude" magazine which I must thank PANNA1 from Digital Spy's forums for.

Attitude: April 2007 issue

"Attitude" seems to be back on form (mostly) after it's crisis at the turn of the year. This month's cover star is Mika, who is given a further 12 pages of text and photoshoot - they have an annoying habit of giving 2 pages to just text or just photos which is a bit disconcerting and puts you off reading. They have also followed up last month's slightly disappointing shoot with "Skins" actors to a downright awful 2-photo shoot with "Hollyoaks" gay-for-pay actors Guy Burnet and James Sutton. I'd sue if I was them! Needless to say I'm not scanning them.

One of the features is with real-life Men At Play types - basically gay men in suited professions. Poster boy of this is stunning 27 yo property solicitor James (above).

The token naked bloke this issue is Stuart Mann (above) from the current series of C4's "Shipwrecked".

The duo above are Nemesis, an American pop act who are both cute, both gay and happen to be identical twin brothers (hair dye apart).

Lastly, and again limited to 2 photos, is David Tennant, no stranger to this blog. He explains what it's like to be "the only straight in the village" on the "Doctor Who set (slight exaggeration I think) and why he's pissed off at the ficklesness of "Pink Paper" readers.

As well as the above there's also Kristian Digby, Beth Ditto, Mark Ronson, Beverley Knight and Matt Willis.

Attitude: Skins' Mitch Hewer & Nicholas Hoult

Took a while for me to get my hands on this, the "Youth" themed issue for 2007.

The photosession with teen cover stars Mitch Hewer and Nicholas Hoult is a bit of an anti-climax and runs for a mere 3 pics (2 here) alongside an interview with both. I find it ironic, given the content of the series, that that is probably a straight Coke in the 2nd pic as otherwise "Attitude" would be plying minors with alchohol (Hewer is 18 in July, Hoult is 18 in December).

For those unfamiliar with the tempestuous course of the E4 drama "Skins" (and if so catch the C4 repeat run) their characters Maxxie and Tony peeled off for a drunken blow job on a school trip to Russia, notable since Tony is ostensibly straight and he was the one 'going down'. If you can, catch the last of the 9 episodes on E4 this Thursday night at 10pm. A second 10 part series has been commisioned.

Attitude: February 2007

Now that I've bagged the issue, here's a further inside peek at McFly and a rather gorgeous pic of ex "Bill" actor Ciaran Griffiths who's about to go full-on gay as Mickey Maguire in "Shameless".

Attitude - naked McFly

Getting McFly naked now seems almost default.

It seems Attitude magazine has not died as this is the cover of the latest issue, but whether it was intended as the January or February issue is another matter altogether ...

November "Attitude" - Take That, History Boys etc

Sorry I failed to cover last month's annual "Porn" issue (actually not one of their best) but here's a bumper crop of scans from the current issue. The re-united Take That are on the cover with an exclusive photoshoot and an interview with Anthony Crank. Ironically it's now Gary Barlow looking the fittest - the others look a bit ravaged.

Despite getting a coup with the 90s pop combo, the magazine are a bit slow on getting a feature on "The History Boys" which was released here in mid-October. I apologise in advance that the layout means I've cut 4 of the cast out of the trouser-dropping shot.

Lastly, as they rarely have attractive fashion spreads the fact they have 2 retro-styled shots mean I've included an example from each.

Also inside is a quick chat with chanteuse Amy Winehouse whose current single "Rehab" is a current favourite of mine.
