Sarah Jane Adventures Totty - Santiago/Finn Jones

Many of you will remember Sarah Jane Smith's immediate predecessor from 70s "Doctor Who" - ditzy dolly bird Jo Grant, played by Katy Manning. Both are now in their early 60s, though unlike her TARDIS replacement, Jo Jones (as is) has not remained single and childless. In fact she is a grandmother and, to end a convoluted intro, this is Santiago, one of her many grandchildren.

As played by 23 year old Finn Jones (late of Hollyoaks) he joins his gran in the story which screens this week on CBBC then BBC One. As well as joining Sarah Jane, Clyde and Rani, Matt Smith's 11th Doctor also guest stars in the tricksily titled "Death of the Doctor" which sees the two companions meet at the time-lord's apparent funeral.

It occurred to me today, without seeing the episodes I admit, that they might have missed a trick by not having Santiago stay on as Luke's replacement. In this case he really is a companion's relative!

Another thing re his look - replace the skinny jeans with tight, patchy flares and add sideburns and he could have been in Jo's debut series, made in 1970/71. It's that hippy hair, jewelry and the plunge neck t-shirt (which would be tie-dye or cheesecloth of course!).

Those of you from the other persuasion will want to know there is female guest totty in the form of Laila Rouass as Colonel Karim of UNIT's Mount Snowdon branch.

Meat to Please You - Edu Boxer - SFW

Just for a change here's a gallery without full nudity, so I've marked it 'safe for work'. Do not fear a policy change though, to catch up I'm posting a MTPY today, tomorrow and Friday and the next two will have the requisite willies!

Bye Bye Luke/Tommy ...and K9 (again)

Photobucket

In what seems to be an autumn of farewells today CBBC ran Luke Smith's last regular (?) episode of "The Sarah Jane Adventures" - part two of "The Nightmare Man" by Joseph Lidster.

He took K9 Mk 4 to Oxford University with him, leaving the eponymous Sarah-Jane as the last human character standing from the SJA pilot of New Year's Day 2007.

Actor Tommy Knight himself has gone from 13 to 17 in the role of the Bane-created boy genius. Unlike most boy geniuses in sci-fi he's managed to do it without making 'Lukey' annoying and smug, and from series one struck up TV's second best* bromance into the bargain in his relationship with Clyde. This was subtly acknowledged in Luke's last story this week.

As when Luke missed one of last year's 2-parters to sit exams, this is what's led Tommy to depart now. I am aware Luke and K9 do make another appearance in this season's finale, but the nature of that is being kept pretty secret and may be no more than a cameo. Filming for the first part of the 2011 season was filmed back to back with this one, but I've not heard of a permanent return for the two geniuses. Given Tommy's avowed ambition to leave acting to be a pediatrician I'm not holding out too much hope, though, ironically he's always been the youngest cast member. The young actress who played Maria Jackson never really returned after sitting her exams. But who knows, he might one day join "Eastenders" or similar - in the past he's been in everything from "The Bill" to "The Full Monty".

Good luck in whatever! Luke will be missed.

Note - I'll be posting a review of "The Nightmare Man" seperately, not something I normally do but making an exception for such a wonderful couple of episodes.

* "Merlin" fans need no clues as to no1

Have to say I thought the expression on Luke's face here ^ looks like it's from a naughty website called "It's Gonna Hurt"

Apprentice Totty 2010

Just caught up with the first episode of this year's "Apprentice" and have selected my top two totty from the men.

First one is 28 yo Jamie Lester and second (in a not terribly flattering shot) is 23 yo Chris Bates.

Hoping to see more of them in upcoming episodes, though both look lovely in suits anyway.

Bye Bye Digital Spy ...

Since they have the wrong email address for me I don't know why this happened this morning (can somebody tell me?) but this life ban ends seven years on and off as a forum member.

What with this and the Facebook ban last month I'm beginning to think someone's out to get me ...
